Employment Discrimination

Gender and Race Discrimination

Disability Discrimination

Sexual Harassment

Age Discrimination

It is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against an employee because of his or her age.  Age discrimination can occur if you were at least 40 at the time of the alleged wrong, subjected to an adverse employment action such as termination or demotion, were otherwise qualified for the position, and, after you were terminated or rejected, a substantially younger applicant replaced you.  Mark has significant experience representing employees in age discrimination cases.  If you have been a victim of age discrimination at your workplace, call Mark for a free consultation.

FMLA

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was enacted nearly 30 years ago to provide eligible employees of covered employers to with unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons and the continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.  Eligible employees are entitled to 12 weeks of leave in a 12-month period for the birth of a child and to care for the newborn child within one year of birth; to the placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care and to care for the newly placed child within one year of placement; to receive treatment for a serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the essential functions of his or her job, or to are for a spouse, child, or parent who has a serious health condition.  Additionally, an employee can receive up to 26 weeks of unpaid leave to care for a covered servicemember with a serious injury or illness if the eligible employee is the servicemember’s spouse, son, daughter, parent, or next of kin. Mark received his undergraduate degree from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and his J.D. from The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.  Mark is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Ohio.
